Everyone is different, everyone finds different ways to develop their mental, physical and creative well-being. So every week, different creative and activity groups will be meeting at the tables of The Dragon Café. These are opportunities for you to develop or start a creative interest and meet fellow-travellers along the way. If you can’t see a group you would like to join, but have an idea for one – email declan@mentalfightclub.com |
All groups are free to join and no previous experience is required.
PLEASE NOTE Though we will try our best to stick to the times shown below, things can change and so the most up to date information can be found on the latest Programme on our THIS WEEK page. If you want to be up to date with all of the additional creative activities and groups on the Dragon menu, then sign up for our weekly updates. Every week is different |
Art Space (All Day): Try your hand at drawing, collage, painting or other expression with a range of materials. Facilitated by Li, there are often specialised art workshops too. |
Writing Works (12 pm): Read interesting poetry or prose selected by group leaders Phil and Diana, then a discussion about what has been read and some quiet time to write – feel free also to bring along work you would like to share. A friendly, supportive group that aims to provide continuity. |
Massage Works (12-6 pm): Sign up on the day for a 15 minute hand, head or foot massage, and help connect mind and body. |
Song Works (1 pm): Join singer and voice-coach Vivien Ellis and Sadie Hurley to enjoy the benefits of group singing. Singing can make you feel happier, and is known to improve breathing, heart function and boost our immune system. Songs are suggested by participants, and are as varied as the people who come to the group – folk, jazz, reggae, soul, pop or blues. ‘If you can talk, you can sing!’ |
|
Dancing (4 pm): Move to the rhythms of the world with Renzo & Ariella. Always fun and friendly. |
Tai Chi (3pm): Combines deep breathing and relaxation with slow and gentle movements. Suitable for all and led by a trainer from the Confucius Institute. |
|
Mindfulness (5 pm): Led by highly experienced trainer Tamara Russell, join a session that aims to enhance the practice of focusing on the moment, to help develop calmer, clearer responses to life’s daily challenges. |
